Metro Council overview:

First meeting of the 2019-2013 Metro Council

First meeting of the 2019-2013 Metro Council

The Nashville metro council is…

…a 40-member body of elected representatives, of which 35 are elected by district and 5 are elected at-large, or county-wide.  Members serve 4-year terms. The presiding officer is the Vice Mayor, who is elected at-large.

This 2019-2023 council is the most diverse and representative body in Metro's history.  The city has elected the first Latina and the first Muslim and has a make-up of 12.5% LGBTQ, 25% African American, and 50% women.  I am honored to serve in such an exciting moment in this city's history!

There are two council meetings every month, on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, at 6:30pm at the David Scobey Council Chamber in the Metropolitan Courthouse, One Public Square in downtown Nashville.

All meetings are open to the public and the first meeting of every month is a public hearing (*).

Can’t make the meeting? That’s okay! Meetings are broadcast live at Metro Nashville Network on Nashville's Comcast Channel 3 and are streamed live at the live stream site. Meetings are scheduled for repeat through the course of the following weeks - check program listing for times.
